Ian Stacey, FCA

Director

Ian is a co-founder of Kings, always had a natural grasp of numbers so accountancy was an easy profession to enter and after qualifying in 1993 has loved helping business owners better understand their business, understand the numbers, help them look forward to the future and set their dreams and targets, helping to make them more profitable, advising on how they can keep the biggest share of those profits and ultimately how to maximise their return on exit. Ian is working towards advising clients on protecting their estates and passing down their greatest values, if that is what the client wishes to do.   Not all do and why not enjoy the hard-earned spoils. Every day offers a different challenge, and Ian is always up with a spring in his step relishing the variety of both the tasks and the clients. Ian is very fortunate to be passionate about his profession and he gets great enjoyment working as an accountant.  Best of all he has made many long terms friends throughout his career.

Away from the desk Ian is passionate about sport but watching at all levels rather than actively taking part nowadays and gets a lot of pleasure from his involvement in a Sunday football team. Ian also enjoys a good day at the races, horses or greyhounds, and to keep the numbers’ theme going he enjoys following the stock markets and dabble in forex trading.  All wrapped with the odd drink or two and a film to wind up a busy day, or a theatre trip or music venue at the weekend to unwind along with spending time with his step-family and wonderful 1yr old twin grandchildren that keep him youthful.

Sara Brown FCA

Director

Sara is a Chartered Accountant with over fifteen years experience in audit and accounts.

Her skills are utilised to provide our clients with a range of services such as audit, due diligence, investigations, statutory accounts, management accounts and forecasting. She is the firms Responsible Individual with respect to Audit.

Within the firm, Sara supports our staff and is responsible for ensuring training is always at the highest standard.

Outside the office, she enjoys reading, walking and swimming.

Stuart Brown, FCA

Director

Stuart is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience in accounts, audit and tax and he loves what he does. Stuart thoroughly enjoys working with his clients so they can get the most out of their business whilst ensuring their affairs are as tax efficient as possible. He believes his clients recommend him because of the trust and advice that he offers.

Stuart and his Team provide their clients with a range of services to suit their requirements such as; tax planning, accounts production and management accounting, including profit and loss and cash flow forecasting to guide businesses in their growth or to assist in difficult times. These skills are of a technical nature but he is often told that his best attribute is the ability to pass on information in a way that is easy to understand.

Outside the office, Stuart is a keen sportsman who particularly enjoys golf and racquet sports. He plays table tennis weekly in local leagues and has represented his home county in national tournaments.

Barbara Fahy, BA (Hons), FCCA

Associate

Barbara is originally from Poland and was schooled at French international school. She completed her undergraduate studies in the UK in 2010. Barbara commenced her training contract immediately afterwards and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2015. She then became a fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 2020.

Barbara loves travel and exploring different foods and cultures. She enjoys live music especially Country. Nashville is one of her favourite places to visit in the World. She also enjoys keeping active through hiking and gym classes. Barbara likes to go to the theatre. One of her favourite musicals is Top Hat.

James Maguire

Office Manager

James joined Kings as office manager in 2024, having spent a number of years working in practice.

James brings with him over 15 years experience in accounts and audit, and is passionate about helping provide clients with service of the highest standard. Day to day James is responsible for quality control, ensuring that the team delivers accounts, VAT and self-assessment returns accurately and on time.

Away from the office James has a wide range of interests including golf, walking and, more recently running.

Derek Britten ACCA

Senior Accountant

Derek began his accountancy journey in 2015 after showing a keen interest in business. He immediately started his AAT qualification and has recently completed his ACCA. Derek is passionate about building relationships with clients and working alongside everyone to provide the best possible service. Within the firm he completes statutory accounts, VAT, bookkeeping and CIS.

Outside of the office, Derek likes attending food festivals across the country and occasionally going abroad so he can learn about new cultures. He also enjoys going to the gym and participating in Muay Thai to give himself an outlet after a busy day. Prior to this he was a qualified 3^rd degree blackbelt and a 3-time world champion in Taekwondo.

Michelle Little

Laura Goodchild AATQB

Bookkeeping, CIS & VAT

Laura has worked within the Accounting Industry for over 15 years and she loves her job! Here at Kings she doesn’t just feel like part of a team but part of a family too!

Laura mainly covers CIS, VAT, Payroll and Bookkeeping but is happy to help in all other areas of accounting where her scope allows. Since completing AAT levels 2 & 3, she has been studying towards her AAT level 4 and is aiming to complete this within the next 6 months.

She is very outgoing and loves socialising with her family and friends and when she’s not enjoying time with her children and grandchildren, her hobbies include walking, Mountain treks, charity events and Comic con!

Ben Dormody, BA (Hons), MAAT

Semi-Senior Accountant

Ben is a junior accountant with a first-class degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hertfordshire (2019) and joined the accountancy industry shortly after.

Day-to-day his main focus is on self-assessment and VAT.

Ben is currently studying the AAT qualification and going forwards he aims to complete this before studying for his chartered qualification.

Away from work he enjoys watching football in particular his team Tottenham Hotspur and during lockdown Ben became a keen runner.

Ben Richardson MAAT

Semi-Senior Accountant

Ben is an enthusiastic hardworking individual who is studying accountancy. He has recently acquired his AAT qualification and has now started his ACA qualification which he is thoroughly looking forward to tackling in the coming years. He welcomes this new challenge with open arms. He has previously achieved a level 2 qualification in business and administration. Ben is enjoying learning about the accounting world and gaining skills while experiencing his own personal growth.

Ben also has interests in football and boxing, even taking part in a charity boxing event to raise money for cancer research.

Alex Liddle

Trainee Accountant

Alex commenced his career in accountancy following an interest in finance after completing his A-Levels. Alex has recently commenced studying towards the AAT qualification and he intends to complete this prior to studying for his chartered qualification. Alex has been undertaking practical training in the workplace with respect to all aspects of taxation, accountancy and regulated work.

Outside of the office Alex has a keen interest in motoring, owning both a car and a motorbike. He also enjoys casual gaming.

Hasnain Lakha BA (Hons)

Semi-Senior Accountant

Hasnain is a trainee accountant, having joined the firm in October 2023, and is currently working towards obtaining the ACCA qualification. He has graduated with a First-Class degree in Business Economics from the University of Hertfordshire. Hasnain’s main focus is on preparing statutory accounts and tax returns for Limited Companies, Partnerships and Sole Traders.

In his spare time, Hasnain is extremely enthusiastic about football and organises weekly football games for the community at large.

Alex Bell

Trainee Accountant

Alex joined the King’s team in mid-2022 after taking a year off after completing his A-levels; he is thoroughly enjoying the accountancy journey so far, and is looking forwards to the challenge as he progresses towards becoming a chartered accountant.

Outside the office, Alex Enjoys playing rugby for a local team, going away skiing with his family and in the summer months going hiking with his friends across different parts of the UK, having recently climbed Snowdon in Wales.

Josef Kraus BA (Hons)

Trainee Accountant

Josef started his accounting journey in August 2023, following his university degree in Sports Business and Sports Law. He is currently in the process of studying for the AAT accounting qualification and loves to expand his skills and knowledge in the world of accountancy.

Josef’s primary responsibilities often include VAT and Self-Assessment Returns.

In his spare time, Josef enjoys regularly playing and watching football. Whilst also enjoying going to food festivals on most weekends.

Matthew Stanton BSc (Hons)

Trainee Accountant

Matthew joined Kings shortly after achieving a first-class degree with Honours in Mathematics from Swansea University (2023). He is someone who loves to learn and expand his accounting knowledge in any way he can.

You will usually find Matthew working on Self-Assessment and VAT Returns for a range of clients.

He is currently studying the AAT accounting qualification with hopes to complete this and then move on to study for his chartered qualification.

Outside of the accounting world, Matthew enjoys meeting up with friends, playing football and running.

Kallum Quinn

Trainee Accountant

Kallum joined Kings after he completed his A-levels and is at the start of his accounting journey. He is a person that loves numbers and enjoys learning to better understand them.

He is currently studying level 3 AAT accounting qualification and would like to progress further in the future, with the aim of becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Outside of the workplace Kallum enjoys going on dog walks and is enthusiastic about sports.

Thomas Monk

Trainee Accountant

Thomas joined Kings after earning his degree in Business and Accounting from the University of Hertfordshire.

His primary responsibilities include preparing VAT returns and self-assessment, ensuring accuracy and compliance for clients.

Currently pursuing his AAT accounting qualifications, Thomas aspires to achieve ACA certification and become a Chartered Accountant.

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys playing and watching football, engaging in squash, and gaming in his free time.

Mansi Mandalia

Trainee Accountant

Mansi is currently studying towards her AAT Level 4 qualification, building on her experience in payroll, bookkeeping, VAT, and CIS returns. She is now expanding her expertise by training in accounts preparation and tax returns, aiming to further enhance her skills in these key areas.

Outside of work, Mansi enjoys reading, traveling, and baking, finding joy in both exploring new places and experimenting with different recipes.
